We are getting Married!

Our Story
We are high school sweethearts that have been together for five years. We got together on a school science club trip in 1999. We have dated long distance for the past four while attending college. We got engaged in June 11, 2004 at Shore Acres Botanical Gardens at a view point we had visited together five years before during the science club trip.

The Wedding
Our Portland, Oregon wedding will be on June 18, 2005 our six year anniversary. It will be a small (<75 guests) wedding with a little country feel to it to respect our small town roots. The ceremony and reception will take place at the East Fork Country Estate in Gresham, Oregon.

Location

Ceremony
The ceremony will take place at 11:00 am outside in the gazebo with a view of Mt. Hood in the background. My hometown pastor will officiate the wedding and a friend will be performing the ceremony music. We will have three bridesmaids and three groomsman.

Reception

The buffet will be served under the covered area that leads to the tented tables in the back.

After everyone has eaten the reception will move indoors to the dance floor and cake cutting. We will be taking our pictures at the gardens pictured. Mt. Hood is just to the left of the picture.

Menu
Catering is provided by the East Fork. We have chose not to serve alcohol in order to cut costs and protect the sanity. Our menu includes:

Chicken Cordon Bleu
Vegetarian Pasta
Scalloped Potatoes
Fresh Fruit Display
Cous Cous and Vegetable Salad
Caesar Salad
Assorted Dinner Rolls
Cheese Bread
Sparkling Punch
Lemonade
Iced Tea
Coffee

Cake
The cake is three tiered with a rectangle bottom layer and round upper layers. The top layer is chocolate fudge cake with chocolate fudge filling (groom's choice), second layer is white chocolate cake with macadamia nuts in Bavarian cream and the bottom layer is white cake with raspberry filling.

Decorations & Flowers

Flowers

This is the bouquet from Martha Stewart I am using as the inspiration for most of the wedding. We are having LillyPilly do our flowers and they are going to try and replicate this for me and smaller ones for the BMs.

Centerpieces:

I am going to do 2-3 potted daisies per table. I got 27 terra cotta pots at Safeway for $0.25 each. I am going to purchase the flowers the week of the wedding. I also have three taper candles for each table.

 Tables:

This is the look I am going for on the tables except with daisies at the center flowers. I love how bright and fun it is. Our colors are similar to those in the picture we are using a dark purple and a pale yellow. I am also only using one fabric runner on each table each of a different pattern.  My mom is going to make us a quilt with the fabric after the wedding.

Attire

Bride's Attire
The Dress: Maggie Sottero, Tiffany from Tower Bridal

I picked up my dress a couple weeks ago. It is perfect. The pictures don't show it well but the dress is really sparkly.

Accessories:

The Veil, Jewelry, and Tiara were all bought on ebay from the company Veiled and Bejeweled. The veil was $32 and is double layer with rhinestones. The necklace was $17 and the tiara was $17.

Bridesmaid Dresses

These are the bridesmaid dresses we got. I wanted something that wasn't full-length, was purple, and could be worn again. I found them at Bon-Macy's for $35 down from $58. I have since found and bought them online from www.15dollarstore.com for $15.

Male Attire
We are renting tuxes from Men's Wearhouse. The groom is wearing cream vest and tie, the groomsman have dark purple bow ties and vests. The dads are in black.

Hair and Makeup

Here are pictures from my hair and makeup trial with AJ Lane.

I am not wearing my veil in these pictures but it will be in the back underneath the part of my hair that is up.

Paper Stuff

Invitations: (mailed 3/22/05)
A very wonderful graphic design friend of mine is designing all the stationery elements for the wedding. We purchased all the supplies from Paper Zone and will be printing them ourselves. The pictures are up and I love how they turned out.

Parties

Bridal Shower: (April 8th, 2005)

My sister and MOH did a great job with the party.

This is me with my cousin (SashaDL). The girls did a great job with my bouquet.
